In addition to funding direct grant requests from Seattle Police Employees, the Seattle Police Foundation also achieves its mission by ensuring the Seattle community has opportunities to interact with their police force in non- enforcement situations and to learn about the police department, and also hosts events to recognize and thank SPD employees.
SPF sponsors and hosts the following annual events:
Breakfast with the Chief– Breakfast with the Chief provides an opportunity for the community to hear directly from the Chief of the Seattle Police Department (SPD) annually
Picnics at the Precincts– Picnics in the Precincts provide an opportunity for each precinct’s surrounding neighborhoods to come together and enjoy an afternoon of celebration with the officers that protect their families and businesses.
Annual Awards Banquet– Through the support of the Seattle Police Foundation and its sponsors, the department is able to hold this event where officers, civic leaders, and the community can come together to honor and thank those who work tirelessly every day to make the city of Seattle a safer place. The banquet is a rare opportunity to hear the untold stories or heroism, courage, and compassion that those in the Seattle Police Department undertake every day.
Precinct Holiday Meals– Many of SPD’s officers have to miss holiday meals with family and friends to protect all of us, which is why the Foundation and local businesses provide meals as a means to say thank you. Meals are provided by local businesses and served by volunteers.
