We’d like to thank the Enterprise Mobility Foundation™ for the generous $2,000 donation to support the men and women of the Seattle Police Department!

This grant will be used to help launch the SPD Recruiting Unit’s new SkillBridge program, a partnership between SPD and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) which allows active-duty service members to engage in industry-specific training during their last 180 days of service. This means that U.S. military members can attend the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (WSCJTC)’s Basic Law Enforcement Academy (BLEA) while still receiving their military compensation, facilitating a smooth transition from the military to a career in law enforcement.

One of the conditions of this streamlined pathway to becoming a police officer is that SPD must provide the uniforms and other training supplies needed to equip each SkillBridge recruit. This donation from the Enterprise Mobility Foundation will be used to help bridge that gap.

SPD’s innovative SkillBridge program is being made possible thanks to the great work of SPD’s Recruiting Unit and we’re thrilled with the opportunity to support efforts to attract viable candidates to SPD. SkillBridge makes a career in law enforcement more financially accessible for the men and women of the U.S. Military and we’re excited to watch this program come to life.

Thank you, Enterprise Mobility Foundation!
